DBES responded to a lube oil spill that occurred on July 24, 2012 when a tanker truck experienced a mechanical failure while offloading to a container ship at dock. The failure resulted in a spill of approximately 2 barrels of lube oil into the LA Harbor. DBES responded in less than one hour with 25 personnel, 4 response vessels and associated equipment to work on the water and under the dock. The cleanup was completed to the satisfaction of both California Department of Fish and Game (OSPR) and the U.S. Coast Guard.
