NFPA Hazardous Materials Technicians

Rudy Kleijne, Dean Matsuoka, and Mike Ricardo recently completed the NFPA Hazardous Materials Technician training in Texas!

This course is 4 1/2 days and is designed to teach the participant how to respond and mitigate a hazardous materials release. This course is designed to meet or exceed the elements of NFPA 472, chapter 7 2008 edition.

DBES Receives California State OSRO Rating

DBES personnel responded to an unannounced deployment exercise in the Port of Long Beach on Wed November 9, 2011.  The exercise called by the California Department of Fish and Game, Office of Spill Prevention and Response (OSPR), required DBES to deploy our marine assets within a 2 hour time-frame.  DBES completed the exercise with precision and finesse in 57 minutes deploying 4000 feet of boom, 3800 bbls per day of skimming capacity and having on-scene and available 600 barels of storage.

Congrats to the DBES Marine Response Team on becoming the newest California OSRO!
